Frankly speaking, unfortunately history has been written for the ruler & not for the Nation. Same is taught in text books to the children & thus in course influence the whole generation & generation after generation.
Mr nehru, let's 1st look at his background. Yes, that's important. Have you ever come across this nehru surname by any chance other than our esteemed jawahar Lal? Many say, that they were pathan (Muslim) settled in Kashmir. His grandfather used to work for a canal (neher), thus they derived this surname (nehru). You can find supporting articles on internet which luckily doesn't need HRD approval.
Desperate to be in power, nehru's father motilal, a very successful lawyer, made his son enter congress & a full time assistant of gandhi ji. In the process, motilal even launched a separate political party, which was short-lived. This background is very important to describe what & why we are penning down this article.
When, after world war 2, British were so economically weak that staying in Bharat was costing them more, they chose to quit on their own. They made Bharat their dominion state (not full independence, note that). By this time tension between Hindu - Muslim rose to its peak & muslim leader jinnah told British that he don't trust Hindus. He won't agree to be ruled by any Hindu leader & asked them to make him the prime minister or create a separate country for muslims. But nehru dreamt of becoming the pm himself. He was adamant to be the pm. This was the reason why Gandhi ji chose to stay at Kolkata & not Delhi at the time when decision on partition of our Nation was going on. He instead told nehru to ask Sardar Patel & follow his orders. Sardar clearly told nehru that if needed, make jinnah the pm but my Bharat will not be partitioned. But nehru told british that Sardar agreed for partition. Anyways, further we go.
British, cunning as always, knew that they've done so much damage to Bharat that if any stable & strong government comes in power, they'll soon ask for the loot back or may take some military action sooner or later. British dictated several conditions like 1) Bharat will be hence forth known as India 2) revenue from tea gardens, bridges, etc will continue for 100 years 3) freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose to be handed over to the British whenever they are caught even by independent Bharat, 4) we will remain a commonwealth nation, etc.
To choose the pm, meeting of congress executive committee was called. Of the 15 members, just 1 voted for nehru & 14 voted for Sardar.
Devastated nehru ran to Gandhi ji & God knows what & how he convinced (managed) him. gandhi ji vetoed that nehru will be the pm.
One such condition of British was, on merging of princely states. They said, who ever wishes to be with Bharat or pakistan can merge as per their choice. Nawab of bhopal, hyderabad, etc opted to be with pakistan. Imagine, 10s of mini pakistan within Bharat & their free commuting all over. Can you even dream of its consequences? You know what, nehru agreed to this too.
Sardar, the reason why we awakened Bharatiya worship him is, he stood against nehru & overnight ordered our military to go & take over all such traitors. All this was executed within a month. The reason why kashmir is still an issue is also a gift by nehru. King of Kashmir, remember, was a Hindu king, was taking time to merge onto Bharat. Within few days of independence afghani tribes along with Pakistani army attacked Kashmir. It was not just an invasion. Barbaric they were, Barbaric they remain.. Baramula, the then most prosperous city of Kashmir, was so badly looted, murdered & raped that no one, no one was bared. Horrified King called Sardar for immediate help & unconditional merger. That operation, as described by our army, is till date the biggest air lift operation by our Army that saved Kashmir. nehru thought that Sardar is taking away all credit & pakistan is crying in international community. nehru went to United Nations to intervene & sort the already settled matter. Because of which, the part which pakistan invaded, still remains with pakistan. nehru 's curse on Kashmir didn't stop with this alone. He, as directed by shekh abdullah, awarded Kashmir status of a country within a country. Kashmir was given a separate pm, a separate symbol, a separate constitution. Bharatiya nationals were required to get a permit (visa) to enter Kashmir. This law, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, founder member of Jansangh (now BJP), got abolished by sacrificing his life. Still, nehru managed to give article 370 to Kashmir to keep it isolated from mainstream Bharat.
Now, you dear readers decide, who played the major role in independence, in partition, in unifying of Bharat (present day Bharat, what we live in now) & in securing our Nation.. Gandhi, Sardar or nehru?
